Salinity study to proceed

(1981) Salinity study to proceed. Western Farmer and Grazier, 3 September 1981. [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

Private funding will meet a major part of the cost of a salinity study proposed for the wheatbelt. A contribution of $40,000 from Wesfarmers will go towards the project which is due to get off the ground in the Narrogin region next year. Minister for Agriculture Dick Old said further funding from other sources was expected to be available to help establish the project and keep it going on a long-term basis. The project will be undertaken by the Agriculture Department and is aimed at finding agronomic and engineering solutions to salinity problems.
