Farmer's drains creating problems
(1981) Farmer's drains creating problems. The Narrogin Observer, 25 June 1981. [Publication] [Special Collections]
Summary
Interceptor banks and drains are causing problems for the Wickepin Shire Council. The banks are forcing water across the shire's roads and can cause significant damage with the consequential increase in road maintenance. A policy motion was placed at the June council meeting that plans should be submitted by the landowner before work begins and any farmer channelling water from a bank or drain into a natural water course be required to meet 50 per cent of the costs to upgrade the crossing.
