CSIRO sees WA as salinity laboratory
Harris,, A. (1981) CSIRO sees WA as salinity laboratory. The West Australian, 6 June 1981. p. 36 [Publication] [Special Collections]
Summary
A report by the CSIRO State committee, which was completed in January, is being evaluated by the CSIRO directorate in Melbourne. Recommendations include the initiation of a long-term programme of research to provide agronomic options for more efficient use of soil water in order to minimise the adverse effects of salinity on soil and water resources. Further recommendations include the expansion of research on native forest ecosystems and to consider initiating a research programme concentrating on the problems of maintenance and management of land-use systems that combine part-clearing with agricultural production.
