WA salinity research set for a big shake-up

Higgs, N. (1981) WA salinity research set for a big shake-up. Western Farmer, 26 March 1981. p. 1 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

Soil salinity research in Western Australia is in for a massive shake-up with the establishment of a top-level ministerial and departmental committee to streamline existing trials. Research in Western Australia began in 1930, but in recent times has been spread among a multitude of departments and committees. Premier Sir Charles Court foreshadowed that the Soil Conservation Act 1945 would be reviewed and Cabinet had recently approved the formation of another salinity group, named the Research Steering Committee.
