Summary
The Agriculture Department will implement a drainage trial on three hectares of salt-affected land at their Esperance Downs research station. Underground tubes used in the project are one of a number of engineering methods currently being used in Western Australia to combat salt. The project is funded by a grant from the Wheat Industry Research Committee and will run for the next five years.
