Letter to the editor - Plant breeder puzzled by union claim

McDowell, T.E. (1981) Letter to the editor - Plant breeder puzzled by union claim. The Countryman, 19 February 1981. [Publication] [Special Collections]

Letter to the editor by T.E. McDowell, Acting Director of Agriculture.

Arguing against the claim made by Harry Whittington that the Department of Agriculture's plant breeding programme and lack of grower influence is disappointing. Mr McDowell suggests that Mr Whittington should have indicated if the views he presented were those of the majority of growers as this would indicate a major change in relationships which the department was not aware of.
