Morawa farmer is consistent achiever
(1982) Morawa farmer is consistent achiever. Our Land, July 1982. p. 12 [Publication] [Special Collections]
Summary
Ron James, who farms 1200 hectares at Morawa, has consistently achieved wheat yields above the district average. Ron attributes the consistency to a long farming plan which includes a balanced fertiliser strategy, the reclamation of salt affected land and a careful watch on soil fertility. Ron has used interceptor banks for water control on salt-affected areas of his land, and has achieved considerable success.
This article contains two images: Ron James standing in a badly salt affected paddock; and Ron James standing alongside one of his dams.
