Salt study urged by soil expert

(1982) Salt study urged by soil expert. The West Australian, 4 October 1982. p. 11 [Publication] [Special Collections]

At a recent WISALTS meeting, the Western Australian Commissioner of Soil Conservation, Dr G Robertson raised concerns that not enough research is being done into farmland salinity. More has been spent on WISALTS Interceptor Banks in the past few years by farmers, than the entire salinity research budget of the Department of Agriculture. The budget was a fraction of the $16 million spent by the Government on reclaiming land in water catchment areas.
