Department of National Development and Energy officer, Alex Manderson calls for long term solutions at a senate inquiry, to the problems of spreading salination and soil erosion based on comprehensive land surveys and research. In a submission to the Science and Environment Committee on Land Use Mr Manderson states grazing, traditional cropping methods and irrigation has been responsible for many of the problems particularly evident in Victoria and Western Australia.
