A new Department of Town and Country Planning to provide advice and coordination for rural planning authorities is one of the recommendations of the task force set up to study land resource management. The proposal put forward by the task force chairman, Dr Maurice Mulcahy, would expand and reinforce the existing Town Planning Department.
