The land resources management report : a matter of public release
Kronborg, J. (1983) The land resources management report : a matter of public release. Western Farmer and Grazier, 24 November 1983. pp. 18-19 [Publication] [Special Collections]
Summary
Newspaper article by Jamie Kronborg.
The state government's task force report into land resources management has brought the issue of conservation sharply into focus. The interim report proposed sweeping reforms of existing conservation strategies and management planning. The report also suggests that the Department of Agriculture play a more incisive role in land management planning and consultation, emphasising it already is one of the principal agencies involved. Land release for agricultural expansion has been a critical issue facing successive governments since the 1950's.
