Summary
The state government has allocated $4.7 million for farm clearing ban compensation this financial year. Premier Brian Burke indicated that a further $2.5 million would be spent on control and research work with the balance being allocated to a compensation payments fund for farmers whose land was subject to the Public Works Department clearing bans because of a salinity hazard.
