Summary
A recap of WISALTS 1983 Annual General Meeting (AGM). Harry Whittington expressed his thanks at the contribution made by the Department of Agriculture to the WISALTS programme, drawning up an extensive salinity research programme concerned with the study of the subsurface water flow, with particular regard to its effect on waterlogging. Guests and members at the AGM were told about visits during the year by prominent American soil scientists Dr Al Black, Director of the Northern Great Plains Research Centre in Mandan, North Dakota and Dr Paul Brown. WISALTS main office bearers were re-elected and new committee members were also elected at the meeting.
