Society of concern

Cant, B. (1983) Society of concern. Western Farmer and Grazier, 15 September 1983. p. 59 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

The Land Management Society was formed on 6 September 1983, nearly three years after Shackleton farmer Jim Shepherd conceived the idea. It is an historic moment in Western Australia's agricultural history with the formation of a society to protect and monitor our farmer's most valuable resource - the land, with Harry Whittington being appointed as inaugural president.

This article contains a photograph of Harry Whittington.
