Summary
Research work involving the cloning of tree could solve one of Australian agriculture's most serious and costly problems. In a bid to stem the encroachment of salinity on farmland, the environmental division of Alcoa is furthering research pioneered by CSIRO scientists aimed at commercially reproducing salt-resistant trees.
