Big soil loss bill

(1983) Big soil loss bill. Western Farmers and Grazier, 4 August 1983. p. 6 [Publication] [Special Collections]

The Department of Agriculture report shows that farmers had lost eight per cent of total farm production estimated value through being "washed, blown or soaked away" due to ineffective land management systems. While salt encroachment is on the increase and was recognised as an important problem, according to the report, wind erosion is the single most costly factor in land degradation.
