(1983) Old before its time. The Queensland Graingrower, 22 June 1983. p. 1 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

Discusses the scarred face of much of Central Queensland as mute testimony to the loss of useful life suffered by the soil in the recent storms and floods. Soil loss from the area of Bauhinia Downs is estimated at 150 to 200 tonnes per hectare and if left unprotected the life expectancy of the soil is 20 to 50 years.

This article includes an aerial image of soil loss in the Bauhinia Downs area.
