Waterway management for soil conservation

(1983) Waterway management for soil conservation. The Queensland Graingrower, 20 April 1983. p. 16 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

Outlines the view of D.P.I. soil conservation officer Mr Roy Gillespie regarding the contour banks needing stable and adequate waterways to work effectively. Mr Gillespie pointed out the most of the problems with waterways could be avoided if they were constructed and grassed before contour banks were built.

This article includes two photographs: a severely eroded waterway with an unknown person in the foreground; and a stable well maintained waterway in the Biloela District.
