Summary

Newspaper article by Mary Busher.

WISALTS interceptor banks received a vote of confidence for salinity control from Dr Al Black, Director of the Northern Great Plains Research Centre in Mandan, North Dakota on the conclusion of his two week visit to inspect salinity problems and controls in Western Australia. Dr Black said that serious degradation of soils was occurring in Western Australia and the need to arrest this was critical. The formation of the Land Management Society and the co-operation of researchers were developments in the right direction.

This article includes a photograph of Dr Al Black talking with WISALTS president Lex Hardie.
