Summary
The Soil Conservation Advisory Committee was established in Western Australia last year, with Mr Elton Butcher appointed as the chair. District committees are established throughout the state to look at river catchment areas with an ongoing commitment to conserve and improve soil conditions. Prominent American soil scientist Dr Al Black, Director of the Northern Great Plains Research Centre in Mandan, North Dakota is midway through his two week evaluation of the Whittington Interceptor Bank System and can be heard speaking at an open meeting on 12 April 1983.
