Conservation seeder trials underway

(1989) Conservation seeder trials underway. Elders Weekly, 24 August 1989. p. 18 [Publication] [Special Collections]

A new type of seeder was unveiled to mixed reviews at the Dowerin Machinery Field Day. The seeder was designed by the Department of Agriculture to be gentler on the topsoil when sowing, thereby reducing soil erosion. Kevin Bligh, a key person working on the project addressed some of the concerns, admitting some features of the prototype would need to be altered after field testing.

This article contains two images: Kevin Bligh and Philip Carter next to the seeder; full seeder machine with the blades lowered.
