WISALTS column - Farms don’t wear all blame

(1989) WISALTS column - Farms don’t wear all blame. Elders Weekly, 17 August 1989. p. 56 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

Farmers are often scapegoated in discussions regarding pollution of creeks, rivers and waterways. While WISALTS acknowledges that farming practices contribute to degradation or conservation, they express concern that the wider context is often forgotten; industry and urban gardening also contribute to fertilizer leaching and water run off.
