Salt, erosion claims over land releases

Bolt, C. (1983) Salt, erosion claims over land releases. Western Farmer and Grazier, 3 February 1983. [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

Discusses a proposed land release for agriculture centred on an area of 10,700 hectares, north of the Fitzgerald River national park. Land Release Study Group spokesman Keith Bradby said the agricultural problems were evidenced by sand drifts and the potential for high salinity in the area. Land Release Working Group chairman John McFadden refutes Mr Bradby's claims, also including the lack of scrutiny where the release could threaten rare or endangered flora.
