Beware of environment hysteria

(1990) Beware of environment hysteria. Elders Weekly, 29 March 1990. p. 11 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Minister of Agriculture Ernie Bridge encourages a shift in thinking away from land degradation and toward an attitude of landcare and land management. Mr Bridge expresses concern about the discussion moving away from practical and necessary agricultural solutions and becoming a tool of political rhetoric. Mr Bridge likens the debate about conservation to Aboriginal land rights, where much confusion was cleared up once the community had a greater shared understanding of the issues being discussed.
