Department says farmers are to blame

Wilson, K. (1990) Department says farmers are to blame. Elders Weekly, 1 February 1990. p. 6 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Summary

Newspaper article by Ken Wilson.

The Department of Agriculture responded to claims by the Western Australian Farmers Federation (WAFF) that their system for reporting sheep deaths due to annual ryegrass toxicity (ARGT) is ineffective. The Department claim that, beyond the initial losses, farmers often did not report further losses and therefore their figures could not adequately capture the scale of losses.
