The bush battlers

Capp, G. (1995) The bush battlers. The West Australian, 5 June 1995. p. 4 [Publication] [Special Collections]

Newspaper article by Geraldine Capp.

Highlights the work being done by local farmers and landcare groups in Toolibin Lake to save the wetlands before irreversible salinity damage. Also celebrates the network of knowledge and conservation planning shared by landcare groups which arose in the 1990's despite a lack of support from agricultural authorities. The importance of wetlands to the region's ecology is briefly explained.

This article contains three photographs of CALM district Manager Tim Bowra, CALM Wheatbelt regional manager Ken Wallace, Lake Toolibin Catchment Committee coordinator Audrey Bird, Peter Batt and Mary Taylor at various sites around the lake, including installing a weir.
