Summary
Draws upon the scientific knowledge and combined 50 years experience of hydrologist Tom Hatton, botanist Greg Keighery and an ecologist Denis Saunders, to explain the threat of salinity in Western Australia. Denis Saunders explains the threat due to the interconnections of natural systems, the extinction of plant species results in the loss of other organisms up the chain. Tom Hatton compares Australia's response to the salinity crisis to the response in the USA to comparable instances of environmental degradation.
