Summary

Lady Barbara Murdoch interviewed by an unknown interviewer.

Lady Murdoch recalls Sir Walter’s time as a professor at the University of Western Australia and his career as a literary scholar. She recollects Sir Walter’s reaction to the naming of Murdoch University after him.

Lady Murdoch shares some more personal memories, such as the importance of their garden as a place to do the mental work of constructing his essays and explains that he would often work so late into the night he would watch the street lights being turned off in the early hours of the morning. She also mentions Sir Walter’s belief that he would not be remembered throughout history.
