Summary

Interview with Lady Kate Gifford by John Clements.

Lady Kate Gifford travelled to Ghana for three weeks to conduct research into the state of education. She emphasises the lack of resources, including books and paper, meaning learning to read and write is impossible.

Lady Kate discusses the lack of foreign as a key barrier to Ghana's development (at the time). She also discusses the possible benefits of developing Ghana for many African countries. As a fertile land, Ghana would be in a position to stimulate trade and agricultural industries.
