Summary

Francis Egerton (F. E.) Lefroy interviewed by John Clements.

F. E. Lefroy speaks about his involvement with the Kings Park and Swan River Protection Society, including the society's methods of campaigning: letters to Parliament and the Press, literature to libraries, public meetings, etc.

The society was formed in the 1950's when various attempts were made to appropriate Kings Park land for other uses. In the 1960's, the society broadened its objectives to includes the river foreshores because of various governmental pressures to reclaim foreshore for Narrows Bridge and Freeway extensions.
