Interview with Reg Patrick by John Clements, recorded in Guildford, Surrey, England.
Reg Patrick speaks about his days as a technical liaison officer at the BBC. In particular, his part in organising the Empire Broadcast in 1953, made by Queen Elizabeth II from Auckland, New Zealand and broadcast throughout the Commonwealth through a joint effort from the BBC, ABC and New Zealand Radio. Reg talks about the technical difficulties in organising this broadcast. He also talks about Sir Edmund Hillary, from whose home the broadcast was made. This recording includes the Empire Broadcast and National Anthem.
