Surveyors Report on WISALTS Conservation System created by JD (Jim) McGregor.

Comments: The area is high up the hill, the scalding occurring in the major throughflow involving the dam and above shallow rock east of the dam. All lines surveyed where possible on major barriers. Clay 20 to 30 centimetres in bank A and B. Bank C above east scald was pushed on to the rocky base and finally sealed with plastic onto rock, plastic also used below dam and in bank D. Two 4 inch pipes used to drop water down to bank D. Bank E pivot point was the only location possible to get through rocky ridge. Poly sheeting also used as backup going through rock. Two 4 inch pipes used at outlet to creek feeding from a small dam. Creek is well eroded with steep sides. Vertical drop from C to D 5 metres. Site full of hazards. Dozer driver instructed to seal where possible and leave the poor material to be sealed with poly.
