Abstract

To the Editor: The results of the multicenter trial reported by Ho et al. (July 25 issue)1 did not show any benefit associated with the placement of a prophylactic vena cava filter in severely injured patients. Although the authors provide high-quality data regarding this critical issue, we would like to clarify some points that warrant attention.
