Summary
Surveyor's Report on WISALTS Soil Conservation System created by R (Richard) Hocking.
Comments: A very heavy gimlet—morrell paddock with unusual loamy—salmon gum sand seams about 4 feet deep where banks cross them. There is very little fall from east to west, salting which is in early stages is due, in my opinion, to numerous sand seams banking up against clay. Extreme difficulty in getting banks to main creek due to crab holes and generally flat paddock, but 2 centimetres in 30 metres fall was generally achieved. No breaks or step downs in banks because of difficulty in trying to get 3 even lands in paddock. Paddock so generally flat with crab holes meant that the lines shown are just about the only ones feasible in this situation.
