Surveyor's Report on WISALTS Soil Conservation System created by HS (Harry) Whittington.

Comments: The natural drainage system is cut off and sub-surface water is not going into the Dale River as it was before clearing. It is accumulating in depressed areas running almost parallel to the river to approximately 1.5 kilometres east of the river. The "throughflow areas" are too numerous and too close together to isolate. Owing to a large area of reconstituted soil, a large continuous sheet of plastic is required, commencing from the south east point to 1.3 kilometres west. The area of static water is considerable when the interceptor bank is completed. It will take from four to six weeks before the water will commence to flow into the river. The weighted salt load will be minimal.

This document is part of the WISALTS (Whittington Interceptor Sustainable Agriculture Land Treatment Society Incorporated) Collection.
