Abstract

This article explores factors that influence university English teachers’ technology use in China by conducting semi-structured in-depth interviews. The findings revealed that English teachers generally hold positive attitudes toward technology use in teaching. Facilitating conditions, technology usefulness, and social influences are major factors influencing their technology uptake. This research deepens people’s understanding of technology use in education through analyzing contextual and cultural phenomenon in China. Suggestions are provided for educational administrators to improve the quality of continued professional development and effectively promote technology integration among teachers.
