Summary
A close-up of the reconstructed subsoils of the 'demonstrate pit'. The impermeability of the reconstructed soil is obvious. As the solids (soil particles) settled to the bottom, they certainly pushed everything else upwards. This sort of demonstration should be applied to every field day that is held to educate land owners, managers and soil scientists on what occurs to subsoils when they become waterlogged.
