Summary

This is a portion of the area being affected by the developing swamp. The trees nearer the road have died in the last twelve months. Port of the 1400 acre catchment is in the background. During the winter some of this area has almost 3 metres of water over it. The bottom of this area is 4.8 metres above the permanent swamp and 12 metres above the Moore River. It is only the barrier which have formed in the soil which is preventing the water reaching the river.
