Bernie (Crash) and Beryl Edwards' property approximately 15 kilometres south-east of Kweda, east of Brookton. Harvesting a wheat crop between the tree-lined Interceptor banks. Before the Edwards' property had the banks constructed their average yield was 5/8ths of a tonne per hectare. This crop is another of their average crops, it is yielding 4 tonnes per hectare. Besides the increased yield, there is no leaching of nutrients, no pollution of waterways and reduced inputs. Bernie still operates the header. He claims that he has less down time than when he used conventional working of the soil. There are no washouts to be avoided, no wet and waterlogged areas, and he has a uniform quality grain.
