Abstract
A pair of Pied Currawongs Strepera graculina was observed nesting in an underground carpark of a suburban shopping centre in Brisbane, Queensland. Previous years’ nests, presumed to be from this species, were detected, indicating that these birds had probably been doing this for at least 3 years. Such plasticity in nest placement suggests that this species is continuing to adjust to urban environs, which might lead to increasing its already significant nest-predatory impact on other birds.
