Abstract

Surface sealing and near-surface pore clogging results in a reduction in infiltration. Various mathematical approaches to the description of infiltration under surface sealing conditions are reviewed. The soil porosity reduction that results from the particle capture process and the governing equations for infiltration modelling as a filtration phenomenon for saturated-unsaturated flow are also presented.
