Abstract
A new synthesis of 4,8-dimethoxy-10-methylisobenzofuro[5,4- b]benzofuran-3(1H)-one (di-O-methylstrepsilin) (2), a derivative of the lichen dibenzofuran strepsilin (1), is described.
