Abstract
The compound responsible for the toxicity of the plant Stypandra imbricata has been isolated and shown to be 7,7′-diacetyl-6,6′- dimethyl-2,2′-binaphthalene-1,1′,8,8′-tetrol (5) by spectroscopic and single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods.
