Abstract
Atmospheric dispersion theory has been developed for the idealized situation of an infinite flat plain. This theory is extended and applied to a non-homogeneous situation under stable conditions. The Monin-Obukhov theory is shown to be applicable between the top of the internal boundary layer and the wind speed maximum produced by a local flow. Above this height the diffusivity is taken to be proportional to the wind speed and uncertainties in km are estimated to be of the order of 60%.
