Warwick, R.M. (1970) The genus Paramesacanthion Wieser (Nematoda, Enoplidae) off the coast of Northumberland. Cahiers de Biologie Marine, 11 . pp. 187-194.
Abstract
Paramesacanthion hirsutus n.sp. and P. marei n.sp. are described from sediment off the coast of Northumberland, England. P. hirsutus differs from the closely related P. oxycephalus in the possession of groups of setae behind the cephalic capsule and a deep constriction between the spicule joints. P. marei is characterized by the anterior position and large size of the pre-cloacal supplement, by the form of the spicules and gubernaculum, and by the arrangement of the subcephalic and cervical setae. A key to the genus is provided, excluding P. brevi-labiatus and P. microsetosus which are considered species inquirendae. K.J.O.W.
