Reflections on the Avon : from people living on the river and working the land
Moore, S.A. (2000) Reflections on the Avon : from people living on the river and working the land. School of Environmental Science, Murdoch University and the Water and Rivers Commission
Abstract
The Avon River Basin drains an area larger than Tasmania. The relationships between those living on its banks and working the land and the River are complex. Their photos and comments show strong nostalgic recollections of swimming in its deep pools, current appreciations of its aesthetic, recreation and wildlife values, pragmatic views of its contributions to farming and its function as a drain.
