Abstract
Three Italian songs were sung in sad, happy, and angry emotions by a number of choir singers. The spectra of the vowels a, e, i, o, and u have been analysed, and compared with the neutral singing of the same voices. Statistical analysis shows that the distribution of format frequencies remains almost the same, but their intensities depend on the particular emotion.
