Tampalini, S. (2011) Stage design: Praxis and theory. Contemporary Arts Media, Melbourne, VIC.
Abstract
2 DVD-ROM Set:
Disc 1. The e-Book: The site where theatre theory and practice meet has always been a contested one and despite numerous attempts at reconciliation they remain suspicious of each other. This book argues that the relationship between theory and practice is symbiotic and as such it is possible, and indeed at times desirable, that practice inform theory. From the perspective of art history and drawing on visual examples from more than 50 theatre productions that constitute the author’s oeuvre, the book traces the evolution of his theatre work and provides the reader with an inspirational insight into contemporary theatre direction and design.
Disc 2. DVD-ROM: Production Photographs- Archival photographs illustrating the e-book.
