Bolton, G. (2007) Custodians of the national memory. In: National Archives of Australia, , (ed.) Memory of a Nation (Exhibition Catalogue). National Archives of Australia, pp. 7-15.
Abstract
This beautiful souvenir book tells fascinating stories drawn from the treasures of the National Archives collection on display in our Canberra gallery. Introduced by leading historian Geoffrey Bolton, it highlights the extent and diversity of records in the National Archives. These include an original musical score of Waltzing Matilda, a petition for Aboriginal land rights from the Larrakia people of Darwin, and Charles Kingsford Smith's 1921 application for a pilot's licence.
