Abstract
There is now an extensive bibliography on Indian cinema, especially on Bollywood cinema, which examines this cinema from perspectives derived from the discipline of film theory and criticism generally. What has been missing until the publication of Gopal and Moorti's anthology Global Bollywood: Travels of Hindi Song and Dance is a feature which is at the crux of popular Indian cinema: song and dance routines.
